Broadbanding also referred to as Broad-banded Pay, is an alternative compensation method for dealing with salary ranges for the same job. Broadband involves a range of compensation midway between two existing salary levels. The purpose is to broaden the scope of employment eligible for extra money. Such broadband should be done only when demonstrated to affect productivity positively.
