The government of India has notified that from the 1st Aug 2015 onwards, every employer has to upload a monthly return for its employees through the e-challan cum return filing module available in the EPF Portal. The ECR stands for electronic challan cum return and is also known as an e-challan return. As per govt notification, an employer must upload monthly returns by the 7th of the month following the month covered under the return.
