The Matrix Organization is a cross between the functional and traditional hierarchal structures. It comprises of Cross-Functional Teams, which report to standard top management. It, in turn, helps in sharing of information and removes the need for duplication. The structure provides freedom to employees enabling them to be innovative, reduces communication costs, and minimizes paperwork.
