Use proper salutation<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greeting the hiring manager in a cover letter is important in demonstrating your professionalism, and a proper greeting should address the hiring manager by their name.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>3. It also provides an opportunity to ask for assistance, such as job leads or referrals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b> Cold Contact Letter:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This type of cover letter is sent to a potential employer even if there is no job opening. It should explain why you are interested in the company and why you think you would be a good fit for the organization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b> Referral Cover Letter: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This type of cover letter is sent when you are referred to an employer by someone you already know. The referral letter should include information about your qualifications and explain why the referral source thinks you would be a great fit for the job.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b> Prospecting cover letter:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A prospecting cover letter, or a letter of interest, is a customized letter that a job seeker writes to a potential employer expressing interest in a position and demonstrating how their skills and experiences make them a good fit for the role.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><b>Example 1<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dear [Hiring Manager],\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am writing to apply for the [position title] position at [company name] that I saw advertised on [source].
