An employer imports daily attendance &amp; monthly leaves data through biometric systems, attendance management system and other attendance tools for monthly payroll processing.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h3\">What are the components of attendance cycle?<\/h2>\n<p>The attendance cycle contains a lot of components like &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Work hours:<\/strong> Employers must inform employees about the regular work hours expected of them. Their attendance is calculated based on the decided work hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Attendance monitoring systems:<\/strong> Companies need to use an attendance tracking system that allows employees to punch in or out of the workplace. It makes it easier for employers to track employee work hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Attendance policies:<\/strong> Employers must specify the attendance policies that include &#8211; leave policies, late and early arrivals, departures, etc. Employees need to know about the leave policies, how to regularize their attendance and their late and early departures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Overtime policies:<\/strong> There should be policies in place to ensure \u2013 what is considered as overtime, overtime pay, overtime tracking, and overtime pay.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Absence reporting:<\/strong> While the attendance should be tracked by the attendance monitoring system, employees should also be aware of how to apply for absence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"h3\">FAQs<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"h5 text-bold\">What is attendance cut-off date?<\/h3>\n<p>The attendance cut-off date is the last day of the attendance cycle. Any LOP days before the attendance cut-off date will be considered in salary processing. But the LOP days after the cut-off date won\u2019t be considered in the current cycle.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"h5 text-bold\">Why is attendance important in salary processing?<\/h3>\n<p>Employers pay employees based on attendance.
