The short-term disability is an insurance policy that it’s provided to the employees at the same time as the group health insurance plan. Usually, the coverage period lasts for a maximum of 30 days in a year, sometimes 90 days. Some employers also provide STD benefits which can be used by employees who cannot work because of pregnancy, illness, or accident.
