    Screening refers to the process of interviewing candidates that meet the qualifications of a job position. Screening is used when there are many candidates with the required qualifications applying for a few available positions. The goal of screening is to narrow down the number of candidates to those most qualified and ultimately present only these more qualified candidates to the hiring supervisor.
