Retraining is an on-the-job process designed to enable a person who has been laid off or downsized and one whose work has changed substantially to acquire new, marketable job skills and attitudes. Retraining is usually undertaken by the individual who is being retrained with their manager and supervisor’s assistance, advice, and counseling.
