What is Performance Evaluation? | Meaning & Definition | Akrivia HCM

Performance evaluation is the process of collecting and interpreting facts about an employee’s performance and documenting the results for use in planning, implementing, and controlling personnel decisions such as compensation, promotion, job assignment, and discipline.
Performance evaluations are used when an employee’s performance isn’t quite up to standards. By reviewing your employees’ performance on their paperwork and initial training, you learn where areas of improvement are needed. You can then set specific goals for the future, such as finishing a project before a particular date or stepping up safety measures in the workplace.
