A Nonexempt employee, sometimes called a salaried employee, is paid a fixed rate. Nonexempt employees have a guaranteed minimum amount to be paid each pay period. It differs from commissioned employees and salaried overtime pay. Nonexempt employees are typically given insurance, retirement plans, and vacation time.
