The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces employment policies regarding discrimination. Since 1964, the EEOC has worked to protect workers against discrimination in the workplace. The government amended the National Labor Relations Act that same year to say that a worker cannot be discriminated against based on race or color. Despite its positive reception, however, the act has been subject to several litigation cases when it is interpreted unfavorably regarding discrimination in terms of other criteria.
