What is ACH Debit? | Meaning & Definition | Akrivia HCM

ACH debit transactions are made to your account when you allow a department, agency, or company to take money from your account. Unlike a non-ACH transaction, the bank isn’t initiating the transfer.

If you like to pay bills online, you’ll need to sign up with your paying company or agency. These payments can be household bills, essential bills, health and hospitality bills, etc. For this, your organization will ask for your account number and consent to debit the amount each month from your bank account.
